Commercial Manager

 Willmotts Transport is one of the largest independent warehousing and distribution companies in the South West, based in Waterlip just outside of Shepton Mallet, Due to continued growth and success, we are looking to appoint a Commercial Manager to join our team and support the next phase of our business development.

The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing the commercial strategy and performance of the business, ensuring profitable growth, client satisfaction, and contract compliance. This role plays a key part in business development, pricing, contract negotiation, and identifying new commercial opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting into the Group Managing Director and Managing Director, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the full customer profile and all related contractual and service level agreements.

  • Oversee customer account management and liaise directly with customer key account contacts.

  • Implement improvements in quality of service and management of customer KPI’s.

  • Mitigate risk in current working practices to enable growth within the business.

  • Manage existing client relationships and support the development of new business opportunities.

  • Manage and oversee all contractual agreements with customers and suppliers.

  • Oversee customer led projects liaising directly with customers and suppliers.

  • Maintain and regularly update the sales CRM system to ensure accuracy of client data, pipeline tracking, and activity logs. 

  • Produce accurate and timely monthly sales reports, providing insights into performance trends, pipeline activity, and key metrics. 

  • Manage, oversee and execute the business marketing strategy inclusive of all social media platforms. 

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar commercial or business management role

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills

  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset

  • Ability to analyse complex data and draw actionable insights

  • High attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Experience within Warehousing & Transport would be an advantage 

  • Experience working with contracts, pricing, and performance management

Additional Details:

  • Hours of Work – Monday to Friday hours 08:30 – 17:30

  • In return, you will receive a very competitive salary dependant on Experience

  • Annual bonus share based upon business profitability

  • 28 days holiday inclusive of Bank Holidays After 2 year’s unbroken service employees will receive an additional day’s holiday which will increase by an extra day (pro rata where necessary) after each additional full years’ service up to a maximum of 3 days.
