Willmotts Transport Expands with New 65,000 sq ft Depot in Chippenham

Willmotts Transport has announced the opening of a new 65,000 sq ft warehouse and operating depot in Chippenham, strengthening the company’s logistics network across the South West and expanding capacity to support FMCG, food & drink, packaging and retail supply chains.

Located on Vincients Road within the Bumpers Farm Trading Estate, the new site represents a significant expansion into Wiltshire and further strengthens Willmotts’ integrated warehousing and distribution offering.

The additional facility increases the company’s total warehousing footprint to more than 500,000 sq ft across eight sites throughout the South West, providing customers with greater flexibility, improved stock positioning and enhanced supply chain resilience.

The Chippenham depot will support both new and existing customers with integrated warehousing, distribution and pallet network services from a strategically located base close to key transport routes and production centres.

Supporting Supply Chain Growth

The expansion forms part of Willmotts’ wider strategy to position stock closer to customers, helping improve responsiveness, reduce lead times and strengthen operational reliability.

Andy Stott, Owner and Group Managing Director of Willmotts Transport, said:

“We are delighted to confirm this expansion of both transport services and warehousing at a time when customers increasingly need their stock readily available to support their markets and maintain supply chain continuity.

The Chippenham site allows us to extend our regional coverage while increasing capacity for growth. By positioning inventory closer to customers and key routes, we can improve responsiveness, reduce lead times and strengthen supply chain reliability.

Interest in the new facility has already been strong from both new and existing customers, and we see this new site as an important step towards future growth as we continue to serve the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods sector.”

Integrated Logistics Capability

Willmotts operates a fleet of more than 150 vehicles ranging from small vans through to articulated trucks, including specialist equipment such as tail lifts and truck-mounted forklifts.

The business also operates HMRC Bonded warehousing and holds BRCGS and Soil Association accreditations, supporting the compliance requirements of food, drink and packaging supply chains.

The new Chippenham facility further strengthens Willmotts’ ability to provide integrated transport, warehousing and distribution solutions across the South West and wider UK supply chain network.
